From Academy Award winner Everett Downing and Patrick Harpin, the new CG action comedy looks at family life and the moments that shape it while giving ‘take your kids to work day’ a crazy new angle; the 10-episode series hits the streamer in February.
Netflix has shared a sneak peek of its new CG animated series My Dad the Bounty Hunter from Academy Award winner Everett Downing (Hair Love) and Patrick Harpin (Hotel Transylvania 2). The action-comedy follows the toughest bounty hunter in all the galaxy, a man with razor-sharp skills, but also a secret - his family on Earth has no idea what he does for a living. The 10-episode series premieres this coming February 9.
The show follows close-knit siblings Lisa and Sean, who stow away on their dad’s latest work trip, hoping to finally get some quality time together. They’re in for quite a surprise when they discover Dad’s been keeping a secret from them (he’s the toughest bounty hunter in the galaxy!). Launched into the surprise space adventure of a lifetime, the kids discover that their seemingly average dad’s job is anything but boring. Dodging dangerous aliens, robots, and laser fights galore, family bonding time becomes much more than they bargained for as they try to help their dad in pursuit of his toughest fugitive yet. With his kids along for the ride, Dad must show up for them when they need it most — and they’d better make it home before Mom finds out!

Downing and Harpin serve as executive producers. The voice cast includes Laz Alonso; Yvonne Orji; Priah Ferguson; Yvette Nicole Brown; JeCobi Swain; Leslie Uggams; Rob Riggle; and Jim Rash.
