Netflix Greenlights ‘A Winter’s Tale from Shaun the Sheep’ Christmas Special

Shooting on 30-minute show begins late this year; special will debut in U.K. on BBC and selected Netflix markets late next year.

A new Aardman Christmas special is coming to Netflix; A Winter's Tale from Shaun the Sheep, a 30-minute special featuring the world’s favorite stop-motion animated sheep, will begin shooting in late 2020, making its debut on Netflix in the U.S., Latin America, Spain, CIS, and Greece late next year. BBC will premiere the film in the U.K.

Shaun's seasonal excitement turns to dismay when a farmhouse raid to get bigger stockings for the flock inadvertently leads to Timmy going missing. Can Shaun get Timmy back before he becomes someone else’s present?

The half-hour Christmas special is written by Giles Burton and Mark Burton, directed by Steve Cox and produced by Richard Beek. Executive producers are Mark Burton, Sara Cox and Carla Shelly.

Can’t wait till Christmas to catch up with your Shaun’s latest mischief? Netflix just premiered the BAFTA-nominated feature film, A Shaun The Sheep Movie: Farmageddon, in the U.S. and Latin America on February 14th.
