Netflix Drops ‘Pacific Rim: The Black’ Season 2 Images

Based on Guillermo del Toro’s ‘Pacific Rim’ film franchise, the epic Jaeger-Kaiju battles continue in the second and final season of Legendary Television’s popular anime series; the Netflix Original hits the streamer April 19.

Netflix and Legendary Television has dropped first look images and a release date for the second and final season of the popular anime series, Pacific Rim: The Black. Based on Legendary Entertainment and Guillermo del Toro’s popular Pacific Rim film franchise, the Original Anime Series continues the tale of epic battles between monsters and robots – Kaiju vs. Jaeger. New episodes hit the streamer April 19.

According to Netflix, in the concluding season, the journey is far from over. Brave siblings Taylor and Hayley still hope to reach the safety of Sydney aboard Atlas Destroyer, the scaled-down training Jaeger left behind when Australia was evacuated. With teenage assassin Mei and the mysterious human/kaiju hybrid bOy joining Taylor and Hayley, this makeshift family must cross a dangerous territory controlled by the bloodthirsty cult Sisters of the Kaiju. These zealots, led by the enigmatic High Priestess, are convinced that bOy is their long-awaited Messiah and will stop at nothing to indoctrinate him into their dark circle – something Hayley would sacrifice everything to prevent.

The show is co-created / co-showrun by Craig Kyle (Thor: Ragnarok) and Greg Johnson (X-Men: Evolution). Legendary Television produces, with Polygon Pictures producing the animation.
