In Annecy 2022 reveal, the streamer shares new show about two young artists navigating the twists and turns of finding love in New York City.
Today, at Netflix’s Animation Showcase at the Annecy International Film Festival, the streamer announced the September 30 release of a brand-new animated series, Entergalactic. Created by Scott “Kid Cudi” Mescudi and Kenya Barris, the show tells the story of two young artists navigating the twists and turns of finding love in New York City.
In the series, a young artist named Jabari (voiced by Mescudi) attempts to balance love and success. Finding the latter brings Jabari a step closer to the former. When moving into his dream apartment, he meets his new neighbor, photographer it-girl, Meadow (voiced by Jessica Williams). An explosion of art, music, and fashion, Entergalactic takes place in the only city that can handle all three: New York.
Alongside Mescudi and Williams, the series' all-star cast includes Timothée Chalamet; Ty Dolla $ign; Laura Harrier; Vanessa Hudgens; Christopher Abbott; 070 Shake; Jaden Smith; Keith David; Teyana Taylor; Arturo Castro; and Macaulay Culkin.
Directed by Fletcher Moules, Entergalactic is written by Ian Edelman and Maurice Williams. Barris (Khalabo Ink Society); Mescudi; Karina Manashil and Dennis Cummings (Mad Solar Productions); Fletcher Moules; Ian Edelman (Edelgang); and Maurice Williams serve as executive producers. The animation is by DNEG.
