Netflix Drops F-Bomb Loving Trailer for ‘America: The Motion Picture’

Come June 30, the world will finally learn the ‘real’ story of the fight for American independence, complete with colonial AT-ATs, energy weapons, and plenty of salty language.

Netflix has just dropped a wild and hilariously wooly official trailer, poster, image set, and casting list, for their upcoming historically-adjacent animated comedy, America: The Motion Picture. Directed by Matt Thompson, who animation aficionados know as the executive producer and all-around maestro behind such animated TV hits as Sealab 2021Frisky Dingo, and of course, Archer, America: The Motion Picture stars a chainsaw-wielding George Washington, who assembles a team of rabble rousers — including beer-loving bro Sam Adams, famed scientist Thomas Edison, acclaimed horseman Paul Revere, and a very pissed off Geronimo — to defeat Benedict Arnold and King James in the American Revolution. Who will win? No one knows, but you can be sure of one thing: these are not your father's Founding… uh, Fathers. No effing way!

Cover the kids’ ears and prepare to witness a side of history not taught in schools, online, or at QAnon mixers.

The stellar cast includes Tatum as George Washington; Jason Mantzoukas as Samuel Adams; Olivia Munn as Thomas Edison; Bobby Moynihan as Paul Revere; Judy Greer as Martha Washington; Will Forte as Abraham Lincoln; Raoul Max Trujillo as Geronimo; Killer Mike as Blacksmith; and Simon Pegg as King James. And Andy Samberg plays Benedict Arnold because, of course.

The film is written by Dave Callaham and produced by Thompson, Callaham, the dynamic duo of Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, Will Allegra, Channing Tatum, Peter Kiernan, Reid Carolin, and Eric Sims.

America: The Motion Picture premieres on Netflix June 30, 2021.
