Neon Noodle Cuts Staff

Neon Noodle Productions, the U.S. representative and marketing company for Global Animation, has shuttered their Marina Del Rey-based Spectrum Studios. 10 employees from the motion-capture studio have been laid off, confirmed a company spokesperson. In addition, Neon Noodle announced that they have let go the majority of the employees at their Encino-based location and will be operating with a skeletal staff. The company cited the events of September 11th and 2001's threatened actors' strike as reasons for the staff cuts. The company will stay in business through its digital animation studio ImagineAsia, based in the Philippines, which is currently unaffected. Formed in 1997, Global Animation is a provider of 3D digital animation, optical and magnetic motion-capture, digital ink and paint and compositing and traditional 2D animation services. Their clients include DreamWorks, Warner Bros., IMAX, Nickelodeon, Porchlight and BET.
