Nemo, Two Towers, Alien Quadrilogy Take DVD Exclusive Awards

FINDING NEMO took home three prizes at the 2003 DVD Exclusive Awards, held Dec. 2 at the Wiltern Theater in Los Angeles. Six hundred academy members, who are filmmakers and TV and DVD producers, judge the outstanding releases of the year.

The Buena Vista Home Entertainment release of the record-breaking Disney/Pixar animated feature won for menu design; games and interactives; and deleted scenes, outtakes and bloopers.

Buena Vistas 101 DALMATIANS II: PATCHS LONDON ADVENTURE picked up five awards for best animated movie; best animated character performance (Martin Short as Lars; Dan Root, character design supervisor); best original score (Richard Gibbs); best director (Jim Kammerud and Brian Smith); and best editing (Robert S. Birchard).

New Line Home Entertainments THE LORD OF THE RINGS: THE TWO TOWERS SPECIAL EXTENDED EDITION won for best overall DVD for a new movie and best new movie scenes.

The just released nine-disc ALIEN QUADRILOGY set from Fox Home Entertainment won for best overall DVD for a classic movie and best audio commentary.

Best visual effects went to BIONICLE: MASK OF LIGHT THE MOVIE from LEGO/Miramax/Buena Vista (Shui-Wen Tsai, Duane Loose).
