NBC Kids Sprout Acquires ‘Sydney Sailboat’

Produced by Essential Media and Entertainment in association with Shambles Communications, Ideate Media, Telegael Teoranta and Lemon Sky, CG-animated preschool series was commissioned by ABC KIDS.

SYDNEY -- Australian independent content producer Essential Media and Entertainment has announced the acquisition of its hit preschool animation series, Sydney Sailboat by NBC Kids Sprout in the U.S. in a deal brokered by distributor Bejuba! Entertainment.

Known as Bubble Bath Bay in Australia, Sydney Sailboat (52 x 11) is an animated CGI series that premiered earlier this year to huge audiences, rapidly becoming one of ABC KIDS top performers, viewed by 50 percent of all available preschool audience.

The series takes children into the fun-filled lives of eager young Sydney Sailboat and his close band of nautical friends as they explore the adventurous worlds of Bubble Bath Bay. With a broad appeal to both young and older preschoolers alike, the series launched its first 26 episodes in March 2015 and a second 26-episode season in June.

Produced by Essential Media and Entertainment in association with Shambles Communications, Ideate Media, Telegael Teoranta and Lemon Sky, the series was commissioned by ABC KIDS. Executive Producers for Essential Media & Entertainment are Carmel Travers, and Chris Hilton, for Ideate Media, Zainir Aminullah, and for Telegael Ireland Paul Cummins. The series creator is Gareth Eden-Styche.

Andrew Beacham acquired the series for NBC Kids.
