NATPE News: Carlton In’l Has 3D Designs On NATPE

Carlton International has two eye-catching 3D animated series, THE ISLAND OF INIS COOL and POCOYO, it will be showcasing at NATPE at booth 825.

Some CGI geniuses in Ireland figured out a way to make an arresting, stop-motion looking series completely in computer animation. The sophisticated yet bizarre style of ISLAND OF INIS COOL is geared for children of all ages. The 26x13 is a refreshing new animation series set on an isolated island off an unknown coast of Ireland. It stars three dim-witted schoolboys Biff, Boff and Ben OMalley amusing and annoying with their cheeky attitudes and outrageous antics. They exploit tourists and technology without mercy, for their comical fun.

ISLAND OF INIS COOL is a TerraGlyph and McCamley Entertainment production in co-production with Luxanimation SA, Ocon Inc. and Telegael Teoranta with Kika Der Kinderkanal ARD/ZDF, TG4 and the Irish Film Board, and produced with the support of the Media Program of the European Union.

Offering a delightful look for the small fry is POCOYO, a 3D CGI series from Carlton and Zinkia Entertainment (Spain), aimed at pre-schoolers and their caregivers. The 52x7 minute series offers a unique blend of visuals combined with percussion, melody and rhythm. POCOYO is about a young childs discovery of the world around him. Pocoyo is a child with an insatiable curiosity, living in a world of limitless opportunities. Helped by his band of friends, Duckie, Elefanta and a puppy called Lucas, Pocoyo is forever discovering new and exciting things.

The visual simplicity and modernity of the series, combined with the upbeat music, is very engaging, making children want to laugh, sing, jump, dance and play with Pocoyo.

Carlton International retains worldwide distribution rights for POCOYO, excluding Spain, Italy, Portugal and Latin America, which are being handled by Zinkia.
