Press Release from Disney XD

NASCAR'S Sprint Cup series points leader Carl Edwards guest stars as Eddie Clutch in a new episode of Disney XD's hit animated series "Kick Buttowski – Suburban Daredevil," SATURDAY, AUGUST 6  (8:30-9:00 a.m., ET/PT) on Disney XD.

In the new episode "Kart to Kart," Kick can't wait to take a spin around the track at "Go-Go-Go-Kart World," Mellowbrook’s go-kart track owned by former champion racer Eddie Clutch (voiced by Edwards).  But when Gordie Gibble buys the track, he makes his first order of business to ban the Buttowskis.

Eddie Clutch, voiced by Edwards, knows what it’s like for Kick, a pint-size daredevil; he was a mere 4’8” until a major growth spurt in his twenties. As the owner of "Go-Go-Go-Kart World," he’s lenient when it comes to height requirements, but serious when it comes to racing. What Kick doesn’t know yet is that Eddie used to be a champion racer, and has a lot to offer in terms of advice and training.

On Sunday, August 7 (1:00 p.m. on ESPN), Edwards will race in the Good Sam RV Insurance 500 at Pocono Raceway.

"Kick Buttowski – Suburban Daredevil" follows an extraordinary kid determined to become the world’s greatest daredevil. Small in stature but big in heart, Kick makes the most out of his suburban surroundings and takes on every stunt with unwavering enthusiasm. Aided by his loyal sidekick, Gunther, Kick rebels against the mundane and knows that, when life throws him an obstacle, his only choice is to jump it.

The series stars Charlie Schlatter as Clarence "Kick" Buttowski; Matt L. Jones as Gunther; Danny Cooksey as Brad; John DiMaggio as Mr. Vickle and Eric Christian Olsen as Wade.

The comedy series has attracted several other notable guest stars including: Dwight Howard, Tony Hawk, Henry Winkler, Ed O'Neill, Will Forte, Alyssa Milano, Emmanuelle Chriqui, Debbie Reynolds, Rico Rodriguez, Emily Osment, Simon Helberg, and "SportsCenter" anchor Jay Harris.

"Kick Buttowski – Suburban Daredevil" was created by Sandro Corsaro, who serves as executive-producer, with Chris Savino serving as producer and director. The series is a production of Disney Television Animation. "Kick Buttowski – Suburban Daredevil" premieres Saturday mornings at 8:30 a.m. (ET/PT) on Disney XD.
