Mysterious ‘Harry Potter’ Sequel May Feature Original Golden Trio

Rumors say Warner Bros. is looking to win back fans of the famed film franchise by developing a new movie featuring the original cast, and all signs point to ‘Cursed Child.’

Alohomora! Some juicy Harry Potter information has been unlocked. According to insider Daniel Richtman, the “original [actors from] the Harry Potter franchise” are in ongoing talks to “come back for a new project.” Richtman is not the first insider to claim the actors will return, so it may be a rumor worth listening to. While many fans have been hoping for a Marauders prequel since 2008, when J.K. Rowling released a short story featuring James Potter and Sirius Black, this information instead points to a Cursed Child film adaptation.

The original theater production garnered massive acclaim in both London and New York, so it’s only a matter of time before it hits the big screen. Adding fuel to the rumor fire, Warner Bros. recently acquired the rights to the popular stage play. An adaptation would spell the potential return of Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, Rupert Grint, and other fan favorites such as Tom Felton as Draco Malfoy and Bonnie Wright as Ginny Potter. This all hinges, of course, on the actors’ willingness to return, especially after Rowling’s recent denunciation of transgender identifiers.

With the poor reviews of Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald and the drama surrounding the third installment still in development, it seems Warner Bros. is looking for a win. What better way than to bring back the beloved actors of the original series in a genuine Rowling-approved sequel? We say bring it on: we need more magic in our lives right now. Mischief managed!
