MTV Networks Latin America Offers Sneak Looks at NATPE

MTV Networks Latin America announced a slate of new acquisitions from Paramount, Sony Studios, Warner Bros. and NBC Universal, among others, to further bolster its 2006 program schedule as the network prepared for this weeks National Association of Programming Executives Conference, NATPE, in Las Vegas. The new acquisitions span a variety of genres and styles and will air in the region on Nickelodeon, VH1 and LOGO.

Nickelodeon Latin America features a variety of humor driven live-action and animated series with a programming lineup that includes domestic and international acquisitions, SKYLAND (Method Films), YU-GI-OH GX (4 Kids), KAPPA MIKEY (Animation Collective) and LOLA & VIRGINIA (Icon Animations).

The network will also pan-regionally launch its new block Nick@Nite, which lures classic hits for the entire family, including THE ADAMS FAMILY (Paramount), I DREAM OF JEANNIE (Sony), BEWITCHED (Sony) and ALF (Warner Bros.), on Feb. 13, 2006, at 10:00 pm.

This year Nickelodeon encompasses more variety than ever before by bringing both humor and live-action to the screen, said Tatiana Rodriguez, svp, programming and creative strategy, Nickelodeon. The programming exec said she was also looking to explore new creative acquisition opportunities for Nickelodeon.

VH1s new acquisitions include WERE ONLY IN IT FOR THE MUSIC, Incs rock documentary; Metallicas SOME KIND OF MONSTER and Warner Bros. PINK FLOYDS THE WALL. Additionally, the network has acquired the rights to critically acclaimed films, including SELENA (Warner Brothers), 8 MILE, NOTTING HILL (NBC/Universal), PRISCILLA QUEEN OF THE DESERT and THELMA & LOUISE (MGM).

New acquisitions for LOGO TV Latin America, the worlds first entertainment channel for gays and lesbians, currently delivered in Brazil and Mexico by SKY, include BETTER THAN CHOCOLATE from Alliance Atlantis, CIRCUIT from Sneak Peak Ent., ETHAN MAO from TLA Ent., I THINK I DO and Jen Sui from Seville Films and FORGIVE & FORGET from Minotaur. BBC acquisitions include THE LOST LANGUAGE OF THE CRANES, BRIGHTON OUT OF THE CLOSET and DAME EDNA LIVES IN THE PALACE.
