Morena Baccarin Joins Animated Horror Film 'Malevolent'

Ray Wise and Bill Moseley are also starring in the indie thriller, which is currently in production.

Homeland star Morena Baccarin has joined animated horror thriller Malevolent, according to a report by The Hollywood Reporter. The film also stars Ray Wise and Bill Moseley.

The animated indie feature, directed by Jason Axinn, centers on a young woman (Dani Lennon) who must defeat her powerful, evil father in order to save herself and her siblings.

Baccarin has been cast as Gamemaster, an otherworldly entity who entraps hapless humans into diabolical conflicts while her species gambles on the outcome. Wise plays Cyrus, the dying, wealthy and embittered industrialist who gathers his family, ostensibly to discuss his estate -- but what he really has in mind for them is something else entirely.

Moseley will voice Cyrus’ twisted henchman, who believes he's still a charmer despite having survived a terrible and disfiguring accident.

From Coverage Ink Films, the horror project is currently in production and eyeing release in early 2015. Jim Cirile and Tanya C. Klein wrote the script and will executive produce the film, which is produced by Paige Barnett and Cindi Rice.
