Monster Distributes Finds Religious Programming Sells

Monster Distributes Ltd. recently completed deals with ITV in the U.K. and Kika in Germany to broadcast KIDS TEN COMMANDMENTS. The series, which Monster picked up at NATPE, ahs a few minor deals and is ready for a big launch at MIPCOM, reports Andrew Fitzpatrick, chairman of Monster Distributes.

Starting with THE STORYKEEPERS, completed in 1997 and one of the most successful biblically-themed animated series (sold in 108 countries, often to multiple broadcasters), Monster Distributes has been building a catalog of programming in the religious genre with programs like the live-action kids series, PRESENT TIME, which ITV also bought, and a load of Christmas specials such as THE CHRISTMAS STORYKEEPERS, THE CHRISTMAS LAMB, THE LEGEND OF THE CANDY CANE and THE LEGEND OF THE 3 TREES.

Monster Distributes has added another new offering, tentatively entitled ANTENNA ADVENTURES, 13 half-hours featuring the adventures of a group of bugs in Old Testament times telling Old Testament stories. The series will be completed in time for MIPCOM.I believe I can say with some certainty that we're the leading distributor in this area which is growing further in popularity since Mel Gibson's foray into religious filmmaking, Fitzpatrick claims.

Outside of the religious area, this year's Oscar-winning HARVIE KRUMPET has been doing very well for us as has another family model animation special, APE, Fitzpatrick said. His company is also a series of 3D specials, HERMIE AND FRIENDS.
