Mondo TV Iberoamerica and Enanimation to Co-Produce ‘Nina & Olga’

New animated series, based on popular preschool property, to launch in spring 2021.

Italian distributor, Mondo TV Iberoamerica, has announced that they will co-produce Nina & Olga, a new series created by the Italian animation studio, Enanimation. The studio has already secured a deal for the TV series with Rai Ragazzi, the kids’ channel of Italian public broadcaster Rai. The 2D HD animated series (52×7’), aimed at 4-6-year-olds, is based on the popular preschool publishing property Olga the Cloud by writer and illustrator Nicoletta Costa. The show is now in production, with a planned launch date of spring 2021.

Mondo TV Producciones Canarias will have exclusive rights in Spain and Andorra and will share the pre-production phase of the show, while parent company Mondo TV S.p.A is responsible for the animation. Enanimation will have exclusive global rights, excluding the Mondo TV Canarias’ territories of Portugal, Latin America, and the Spanish-speaking US.

For the series, Enanimation developed a new character, Nina, who is a special friend to Olga. Olga is a cute, funny, soft cloud who is friends with the moon, the stars and the sun as well as the children. Olga helps Nina to understand and face her feelings and cope with everyday challenges. Olga and her friends come together as part of Nina & Olga’s daily adventures.

“It is a real joy and honor to be bringing this much-loved preschool property to the screen in partnership with a genuinely innovative and respected production company,” commented Mond TV Iberoamerica Group CEO Maria Bonaria Fois. “The enormous potential of Nina & Olga has already attracted Rai Ragazzi and will undoubtedly bring many more broadcasters on board.”

“Nicoletta Costa is a great storyteller and Olga the Cloud is one of her most delightful characters” added Enamation CEO, Federica Maggio. “We are looking forward enormously to bringing to life one of the most successful characters in children’s publishing in partnership with one of the leading names in children’s animation.”
