Hosted by comedians Bart Batchelor and Chris Nielsen, new series is a compilation of comedy shorts sourced from independent Canadian animation teams.
Mondo Media, Blue Ant Media, YouTube, and Corus Entertainment have partnered to create a new series called Night Sweats. Airing on Fridays at 10pm ET/PT, the original 26-minute, 30-episode animated series premiered on September 4th on Adult Swim in Canada.
Hosted by comedians Bart Batchelor and Chris Nielsen, the show is a compilation of comedy shorts sourced from independent Canadian animation teams, with many of the episodes a product of both Canadian and international collaboration.
Eschewing the traditional TV development process, much of the content for Night Sweats was incubated in the digital space before making the jump to TV. After issuing a call for submissions in 2014, Night Sweats received over 750 pitches, which resulted in 30 greenlit pilots and 15 shows receiving multiple episode orders. The program uses YouTube to test the relative popularity of pilot shorts by measuring the views and user feedback to determine which series to expand into larger orders and longer formats.
