A virtual space of information about the MIPCOM Mobile & Internet TV Awards has been set up inside the 3D virtual world of Second Life. This virtual platform brings together creators and new talent in emerging areas of entertainment, such as Internet and machinima.
For the third consecutive year, the MIPCOM Mobile & Internet TV Awards stimulate and reward excellence for new short form audiovisual entertainment content and cross media formats for Mobile and Internet TV. The final deadline for submitting entries to the Awards is July 30, 2007. Entering the competition is free and open to professionals from any country.
The categories in this year's competition are:1. Best Short Form Audiovisual Entertainment made for Mobile and/or Internet: Drama
2. Best Short Form Audiovisual Entertainment made for Mobile and/or Internet: Comedy
3. Best Short Form Audiovisual Entertainment made for Mobile and/or Internet: Lifestyle/Music
4. Best Short Form Audiovisual Entertainment made for Mobile and/or Internet: Factual
5. Best Cross Platform & interactive Mobile TV Format
6. Best Made-for-Mobile TV or Film Channel
7. Best Mobile service for Social Community & User-Generated Content
8. Best Short Film originally Created or Repurposed for Mobile
9. Best Film shot on a Mobile Device
The nominees of the Mobile & Internet TV Awards 2007 will be announced in September and the winners will be unveiled during the Awards Ceremony, Oct. 10, during the 22nd edition of MIPCOM, Oct. 8-12, 2007 in the Palais des Festivals in Cannes.
