Press release from Millimages:

Paris, France –

Leading European production and distribution company Millimages has secured a major broadcast deal for its new property Mouk with KiKA in Germany.

The 62 x 11-minute animated preschool series, commissioned by France Télévisions and Disney Channel UK, has been picked up by KiKA for broadcast in 2012.

This deal follows a far-reaching broadcast agreement for the show secured with Disney for its networks in France, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Benelux, Scandinavia, Eastern Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

Sebastian Debertin, Head of Fiction/Acquisition & Co-production at KiKA adds: "Once they have seen the wonderful world of Mouk, kids and parents alike will love to follow him and his friend Chavapa on their exciting journey around the world, better understanding the broad variety of different cultures and the amazing nature, that the series presents! Millimages has produced a brilliant adaptation of the book by Marc Boutavant and we look forward to starting our tour around the world with Mouk -- here on KiKA."

John Reynolds, Group Commercial Director at Millimages says: “Mouk is an exciting new show for us and we are delighted that a key broadcaster like KiKA is on board the project. With its ‘small world’ theme and tales of travel and adventure, we’re thrilled that it will be seen by children in Germany as well as the rest of the world.”

Based on the work of Marc Boutavant and directed by François Narboux, the show revolves around Mouk and his buddy Chavapa, two globetrotters who explore the world on their bicycles.

From Ouagadougou to New York, from Australia to Madagascar and Greece, the two buddies discover the world and its inhabitants... and as everything's different from home, adventure is always at the end of the road!

Preschool viewers can join them as they discover new countries and the many wonderful things that inhabit these places. As they travel around the globe, they keep Popo, their home loving friend and his sister Mita, up to date with all the news of their travels.

Millimages holds all international TV and licensing and merchandising rights to the property.
