Millie Bobby Brown to Produce and Star in Netflix’s ‘Damsel’

The ‘Stranger Things’ darling returns to the streaming giant as a princess confronting a dastardly dragon in their upcoming fantasy film, which she will also executive produce.

Thank goodness we have Netflix to sustain us during this hopefully soon to end COVID-19 quarantine. Where else can we stream all seven seasons of Gilmore Girls, 12 hours a day, in our pajamas? Thankfully, for those looking for entertainment options more recent than 20 years old, the streaming giant is putting huge emphasis on their growing slate of original content (including an ambitious animated feature schedule). One such original production is the upcoming period fantasy film Damsel, headed by Stranger Things and Enola Holmes darling Millie Bobby Brown.

The Juan Carlos Fresnadillo (28 Weeks Later) directed story depicts Brown as Princess Elodie, who is married off to a dastardly kingdom that sacrifices their princesses to a cruel dragon. In addition, Brown will executive produce under her PCMA Productions banner, which marks the third time for the sixteen-year-old (she also has producing credits for Enola Holmes and The Girls I’ve Been). While we’re sure this damsel will not be in distress, we are very curious to see how the dragon comes to life: will it be animated a-la Pete’s Dragon, or wonderfully CG like Dragonheart?
