Mike Judge and Zach Woods' ‘In the Know’ Snags Voice Cast

Caitlin Reilly, Charlie Bushnell, J. Smith-Cameron, and Carl Tart join the stop-motion show, the streamer’s first adult animated series, about NPR’s third most popular host - a puppet who interviews real world humans - with a diverse crew of puppets… and nimrods.

Peacock has just announced the voice cast for its first adult animated comedy, In the Know, created and executive produced by Mike Judge (Beavis and Butt-Head, Silicon Valley, King of the Hill) and Zach Woods (Silicon Valley, The Office), who also star.

Caitlin Reilly (Loot, Hacks), Charlie Bushnell (Diary of a Future President, Percy Jackson and The Olympians), J. Smith-Cameron (Succession, Rectify), and Carl Tart (Grand Crew) have joined the cast of the stop-motion series that comes from Universal Television, a division of Universal Studio Group, Bandera Entertainment, and Shadowmachine.

Brandon Gardner also co-creates and executive produce. Greg Daniels (The Office) and Dustin Davis executive produce for Bandera Entertainment in addition to Alexander Bulkley and Corey Campodonico for Shadowmachine.

According to the streamer, the show, which received a straight-to-series order last September, is centered on Lauren Caspian, NPR’s third most popular host. He’s a well-meaning, hypocritical nimrod, just like you and me. He’s also a stop motion puppet. Each episode follows the making of an episode of Lauren’s show In the Know, in which Lauren conducts in-depth interviews with real world human guests. Lauren collaborates with a diverse crew of NPR staff. They are also puppets and nimrods.

Judge and Daniels are also developing another adult animated series for Peacock called Best Buds, which follows, “Calvin, who works at his family-owned flower shop (called Best Buds), the ‘crown jewel of the local strip mall.’ When his best friend, Evelyn, comes back to town after dropping out of grad school, he gets her a job at the shop, and they begin a mission to bring the place out of the 1980s and into the present.”

No word yet on an In the Know release date.
