Method Signs Andy Boyd

Method Studios has signed Andy Boyd as a CG supervisor. Most recently working as the head of 3D Commercials with Framestore-CFC London, Boyd is a well-known 3D artist and recognized as the visual effects creative force behind high-profile campaigns such as the Daniel Kleinman-directed GUINNESS Noitulove, SURE/REXONA lensed by Noam Murro and ESUVEE directed by Daniel Kleinman. His official start will be July 1.

Boyd is the recipient of many industry awards including: a 2004 Primetime Emmy Award for Dreamkeeper in the Outstanding Visual Effects for a Mini-series, Movie or Special category, a 2005 MTV Music Awards Best Music Video for Chemical Bothers "Believe," a 2006 Visual Effects Society Outstanding Visual Effects in a Commercial for GUINNESS Noitulove, five additional VES nominations and a 2006 D&AD Special Effects award in the TV and Cinema Crafts category for GUINNESS Noitulove.

With 10 years of experience in the visual effects market, Boyds resume also includes a stint as the person responsible for creating the digital spiders that scuttle their way through HARRY POTTER AND THE CHAMBER OF SECRETS. Prior to Framestore-CFC, he worked as the senior td at Glassworks.

Boyd joins CG creative director Laurent Ledru and CG technical director Gil Baron. Method has grown its CG department to 10 staffers. Over the last year, Method has added such artists as Chi Wei Hsu, Matt Wheeler, Seung Joon Lee, Ryan Apuy, Matthew Longwell, Felix Urquiza and Sean Durnan.

Based in Santa Monica, California, Method (www.methodstudios.com) is a visual effects artists' studio specialized in the production of digital imagery for commercials, feature films and music videos.
