MOSCOW -- Animaccord, the Moscow-based company that owns the rights for the TV series Masha and the Bear, reports strong growth for the brand across the globe.

In December, Animaccord, together with the Ink Group, partnered with CSC Media Group, a subsidiary of Sony Pictures Television, to bring Masha and the Bear season one for the first time to free TV in the U.K. on the channel Tiny Pop. This year, Tiny Pop also will start airing spinoff series Masha’s Tales in February and Masha’s Spooky Stories in April, followed by the June release of Masha and the Bear season two.

In licensing, Ferrero will launch for Easter a special collection of licensed Kinder Surprise Maxi eggs in Europe and Kinder Surprise eggs in Mexico, Central America, Europe and CIS. Simba Dickie Group, the master toy partner of Animaccord in the EMEA region, has presented for Christmas a plush “Snoring Bear,” which will be available for purchase at major retailers across Europe. They were launched in Poland in November and in France in December.

The Masha and the Bear episode “Bon Appétit!” in Russian received more than a billion views on the YouTube channel Get Movies. Still the most popular animation video of Masha and the Bear is the episode “Recipe for Disaster,” boasting 2.7 billion views on YouTube, taking the seventh place in the list of the most-viewed videos in YouTube history. To date, on the official Russian channel of the project -- MashaMadvedTV -- there are more than 13 million subscribers. This makes it the third most-subscribed children’s channel on YouTube worldwide, according to Social Blade. Animaccord also recently added three channels featuring the show in Turkish, Hindi and Hebrew.

Leeds-based digital studio Dubit closed 2017 with its mini-games iPad app based on Masha and the Bear becoming December’s No. 1 paid entertainment app and the No. 2 paid children’s app. It made Apple’s New Apps We Love and Hot This Week features in the U.S., U.K. and Canada.
