Main Cast Revealed for Animated ‘Creature Commandos’ DCU Series

The first title from James Gunn and Peter Safran’s ‘Gods & Monsters’ chapter of the franchise stars David Harbour, Indira Varma, Alan Tudyk, Maria Bakalova, Zoe Chao, Steve Agee, and others, set to stream in 2024.

The main cast has finally been revealed for the upcoming seven-episode DCU animated series Creature Commandos, and it is absolutely packed with A-list names.

The series stars David Harbour (Stranger Things, Violent Night) as Eric Frankenstein, a version of the classic monster; Indira Varma (Game of Thrones, Obi-Wan Kenobi) as the Bride of Frankenstein and main protagonist; Alan Tudyk (Disenchanted, Resident Alien) as the chronically radioactive Doctor Phosphorus; Maria Bakalova (Bodies Bodies Bodies, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3) as Ilana Rostovic; Zoe Chao (The Afterparty, Party Down) as amphibious scientist Nina Mazursky; Steve Agee (Peacemaker, The Suicide Squad) as John Economos; Sean Gunn as G.I. Robot; Frank Grillo (Black Lotus, The Grey) as Rick Flag Senior; and more. The recently announced cast joins Sean Gunn as Weasel and Viola Davis as Amanda Waller, both reprising their roles from The Suicide Squad.

The series marks the first title to release in James Gunn and Peter Safran’s ‘Gods & Monsters’ chapter of the franchise. As previously announced, almost all the voice actors in the series will also portray their characters in live-action projects.

In the original DC comics, the Creature Commandos were the predecessors of the Suicide Squad, brought together during World War II to battle the Nazis. However, with Davis’ Waller included in the plot as the leader of a black ops team, the series timeline may differ from the comics.

Creature Commandos streams in 2024.
