Magnet Captures Monsters

Soon after its premiere at SXSW Film Festival, MONSTERS was acquired for U.S. and Mexican distribution by Magnet Releasing, according to THE HOLLYWOOD REPORTER.

The story deals with a quarantined area in Mexico that has been infected by alien life forms.

For former visual effects artist Gareth Edwards (BBC's ATTILA THE HUN) it's his feature directorial debut. Film stars Scoot McNairy and Whitney Able, as well as locals from Guatemala, Mexico and the U.S.

Vertigo Films' Allan Niblo and James Richardson are the producers. Protagonist Pictures holds the worldwide rights. Magnolia svp Tom Quinn and Protagonist CEO Ben Roberts made the deal.
