Magic Frame Animation and Creation Entertainment Team Up on ‘Aliens FC’

The studios will present the animated kids' film at Marché du Film in May alongside other collaborations, including upcoming animated series ‘Buddy Bots’ and Christmas film ‘Paul Martin and the Magic Magnifying Glass.’

Magic Frame Animation and Creation Entertainment Media are heading to Marché du Film in May to present their co-production Aliens FC, an animated film helmed by Oscar-nominated writer Sam Morrison (Shaun the Sheep, Peppa Pig, Robin Robin). The writing duo Tim Clague and Danny Stack (PJ Masks, Hey Duggee, Oddbods) will develop the project with Morrison.

The studios' other collaborative projects, the upcoming kids’ animated series Buddy Bots and the Christmas animated movie Paul Martin and the Magic Magnifying Glass based on the book series by George Alexander Vagan, are also heading to the event.

Aliens FC features the adventures of a regular family mistaken for a famous soccer team by a pair of friendly but bumbling aliens. The extraterrestrials whisk the family across the galaxy to help them win their “local” football league. The family is promised a return trip to Earth after the match.

Animators will use AI to create the film’s imagery set across an array of fantasy locations to transport audiences to the aliens’ planet.

“We’re thrilled to be bringing these exciting projects to the Marché du Film with our friends at Magic Frame,” said Creation Entertainment Media CEO Sefi Carmel. “Aliens FC is a charming and completely unique tale, and we couldn’t have a better team of writers attached than Sam, Tim, and Danny to bring the vision to life. We’re looking forward to sharing the story in Cannes.”

“We’ve always known Aliens FC is a special project, so we couldn’t be happier to have these amazing writers working with us,” added Magic Frame Animation Head of Sales and Co-Productions Lidia Chirita. “What sets this film apart is the remarkable and imaginative alien world where the film is based, which has been expertly crafted by our talented animators with the help of AI. Every frame is an adventure, allowing us to build a unique fantasy world that audiences all over the world will love. We also have further exciting news in the works involving one of the world’s biggest football stars – so expect more news soon.”
