Lucas on Indy 5, Star Wars 3-D & Red Tails

ComingSoon.net chatted with George Lucas at last night's American Cinemathque award honoring Samuel L. Jackson in Hollywood.

Lucas said they are seriously looking at a fifth INDIANA JONES film, but are hunting for that elusive "MacGuffin, which is an object that he goes after. They're very hard to come by," Lucas added.

Marion Ravenwood (Karen Allen) and Mutt Williams (Shia LaBeouf), as Indy's love interest and son, respectively, would only appear if the story allows, Lucas said. "It really depends on what it is Indy goes looking for and then how the story falls out of that, and then how convenient or inconvenient to have the group there."

Lucas also said his long-in-the-works Tuskegee Airmen project RED TAILS is set to start shooting in the spring, with casting underway and Anthony Hamilton set to direct.

He also said his plan to convert all six STAR WARS into 3-D is still being worked on, but that it is "extremely expensive, and so what we're trying to do is figure out a more practical way of pulling it off."
