Lost and Found Finds a Home on Channel 4

Contender Entertainment Group and Studio AKA's adaptation of the much loved Oliver Jeffers book LOST AND FOUND, published by Harper Collins, is due to be broadcast on Channel 4 in the U.K. this Christmas. The 25-minute animated film will be screened on Christmas Eve and again on Boxing Day.

LOST AND FOUND is a magical tale of friendship and loneliness, which tells the story of a little boy who one day finds a penguin on his doorstep. Although at first he is unsure what to do, the boy becomes determined to help the penguin find his way back home... a task that proves less easy than anticipated. Undaunted, the boy decides to take the penguin home himself, by rowing all the way to the South Pole. Along the way the boy discovers that maybe home wasn't what the penguin was looking for after all.

The original bestselling book was released in 2005 to much acclaim and won the Blue Peter Book of the Year and the Nestle Gold Prize.

Jeffers' artwork has been interpreted by director Philip Hunt and the team at Studio AKA, the animation production company renowned worldwide for its innovative and idiosyncratic work. The studio is behind the recent animated commercials for Lloyds TSB and won a BAFTA for best animated short film and the prestigious Cartoon d'Or for their 2004 film, JO JO IN THE STARS.

LOST AND FOUND features a beautiful score from composer Max Richter and the film is narrated by actor and national treasure Jim Broadbent, whose voice adds resonance and poignancy to this heart warming film.
