LOOK Effects Produces VFX for ABC’s ‘Black Box’

LOOK Effects produces all the visual effects for ABC’s new drama, Black Box.

LOS ANGELES -- LOOK Effects has produced all the visual effects for ABC’s new drama, Black Box, which aired Thursday, April 24th, at 10:00 pm EST.

The series centers around Elizabeth Black (Kelly Reilly), a famed neuroscientist, with a job at the Center for Neurological Research and Treatment, as she attempts to unravel the mysteries of the brain while hiding her own secret: she's bipolar.

Intriguing medical mysteries, teamed with Dr. Black’s internal life, made for many opportunities for LOOK to design interesting visual effects for this drama.  “This series was a good fit for us,” says Visual Effects Supervisor John Myers. “LOOK strives to consistently create high-quality visual effects within tight timeframes. The production team was great to collaborate with and we had some amazing directors on the show, they all made our job easy.”

With offices in Los Angeles, New York, Vancouver and Stuttgart, Germany, LOOK Effects has provided visual effects for films including Noah, The Grand Budapest Hotel, Warm Bodies, Life of Pi, Moonrise Kingdom, The Muppets, Captain America, Limitless, and The King’s Speech, and the company’s work for Darren Aronofsky’s Black Swan was nominated for both VES and BAFTA awards for visual effects. Television credits include “Bones,” “Game of Thrones,” “Nashville,” “Castle,” “The Finder,” the Emmy-nominated effects for “Life After People,” and all of the VES-nominated effects for the final season of “Lost.
