LOOK Effects Hires Wendy Lanning

LOOK Effects hires visual effects industry veteran Wendy Lanning as executive visual effects producer.

LOS ANGELES, CA – VFX company LOOK Effects has hired visual effects industry veteran Wendy Lanning as executive visual effects producer. Wendy brings almost 20 years of experience to LOOK and their Vancouver office. She will be producing LOOK’s post-production projects and working to bring on new films and television shows. Wendy begins her new position today, April 29th.

As a producer and production executive, Wendy brings a strong head for business and passion for visual effects to every project. Her most recent projects include: The Great Gatsby, Out of the Furnace, The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Pt. 1, Immortals, and Sucker Punch. Previously, as one of the original founding partners of Intelligent Creatures in Toronto, she acted as executive producer on over 20 Feature Films. Her credits include: Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium, Hairspray, The Number 23, The Fountain, Babel, Stranger Than Fiction, Stay, Mr. & Mrs. Smith and The Matador. Other past experience includes serving as visual effects production manager on Panic Room and as visual effects producer on the Oscar-winning Chicago.

Wendy began her career as an assistant editor in 1995 at one of the top offline houses in North America. She has worked with director Peter Bogdanovich on two MOWs. One of the last commercials she assisted on (Budweiser – Lobster, DDB Needham, Chicago) won a Silver Lion at Cannes.

After spending three years freelancing on the west coast, Wendy moved to Vancouver, making LOOK her home.

“I am so excited to be joining LOOK,” says Wendy. “I have long been impressed with their work and the projects they work on. Once I started talking to them, I became really excited by their corporate culture and their company vision. This is going to be great fun and a wonderful challenge.”
