NEW YORK, March 31, 2010 - Little Airplane Productions' new short form animated series "Small Potatoes" has been pre-sold in Europe, Australia and Canada.  Broadcasters include CBeebies in the UK, NRK in Norway, SVT in Sweden, ABC TV in Australia and TVO and Knowledge in Canada.  The series will make its debut on CBeebies in summer, 2011.

"The Small Potatoes are the Beatles of the fresh produce aisle," said Josh Selig, Founder and President, Little Airplane Productions.  "Their music has universal appeal and can be enjoyed by parents and children alike.  I have never loved one of our shows as much as I love this one."

"Small Potatoes" (26 x 3:00) is a band of four adorable potatoes.  Every episode represents a different phase of the band's career, from their "roots" in Rock & Roll to their journey into Jazz, Reggae, Ska and Hip-Hop. The "Small Potatoes" have even been known to "mash" genres.

Composers and lyricists for the series include such luminaries as Jerry Bock, Tony Award winner for Best Musical and Best Composer and Lyricist of the classic "Fiddler On The Roof."

"Small Potatoes" also won a 2010 BAMmie award at the 12th Annual BAMkids Film Festival for "Best Film for 2 - 5 Year Olds."  This award is given out each year by The Department of Education & Humanities at the Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM).

"Little Airplane demonstrates that real music, made with real instruments, voices and simply thoughtful songwriting, appeals to all ages," said Mindy Thomas, Program Director, SIRIUS/XM'S Kids Place Live.  "'Small Potatoes' is as easy on the ears as it is on the eyes."

The Small Potatoes help young viewers learn about great music while exploring the limitless world of their imaginations.  "Some potatoes get baked.  Some potatoes get par boiled.  But we became musicians," said Chip, the only Small Potato who could be reached for comment.
