NEW YORK, September 13, 2010 - Little Airplane Productions’ new short-form animated series “Small Potatoes” is rolling into Mipcom with news of a major pre-sale agreement with Disney Channel's Playhouse Disney in the US.  The 26 x 3 series has already been sold to CBeebies in the UK, NRK in Norway, SVT in Sweden, ABC TV in Australia and TVO and Knowledge in Canada.  ABC Commercial has also just completed a deal for the Australian music and home entertainment rights to the show.

Following the adventures of a band of four adorable singing potatoes, “Small Potatoes" helps young viewers learn about different styles of music.  Every episode represents a different phase of the band's career, from their "roots" in Rock & Roll to their journey into Jazz, Reggae, Disco and Hip Hop.  The series was created and directed by Josh Selig, Founder and President, Little Airplane Productions.

"'Small Potatoes’ is our first preschool property designed specifically to work across all platforms: TV, games, music, publishing, Apps, film, consumer products and the web," said Selig.  "It's our first experience creating a Transmedia property and we're delighted that Playhouse Disney and other top broadcasters have been embracing the series."

Composers and lyricists for “Small Potatoes" include such luminaries as Jerry Bock, Tony Award winner for Best Musical and Best Composer and Lyricist of the classic "Fiddler On The Roof" and Michael John LaChiusa, Tony Award nominated composer and writer for "Marie Christine."  All the music for "Small Potatoes" is produced by Little Airplane's three-time Emmy Award-winning Musical Director, Jeffrey Lesser.

"Small Potatoes" has already won a 2010 BAMmie award at the 12th Annual BAMkids Film Festival for "Best Film for 2 - 5 Year Olds."  This award is given out each year by The Department of Education & Humanities at the Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM).
