Licensing 2002 International is the annual trade show for the multi-billion dollar worldwide business of consumer product licensing, marketing and merchandising and the show continues to be the most important marketplace for concepts and creative ideas related to the biggest brands in the world. Mattel Masters He-Man Mattel, Inc. will reveal a preview of the new animated television series HE-MAN AND THE MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE at Licensing 2002 International as well as its multi-category merchandising program reflecting both the classic and new look of HE-MAN. Mattel will also showcase the new HE-MAN toy line that debuted earlier this year and is scheduled to be at retail this fall. HE-MAN AND THE MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE will debut on Cartoon Network on August 16, 2002. Booth #3705.

Sony Has Sequels And Series On Deck For Licensing 2002

Sony Pictures Consumer Products (SPCP) will showcase its line-up of film and TV properties at Licensing 2002 International including the feature films SPIDER-MAN 2 and CHARLIE'S ANGELS 2 and new television series including SPIDER-MAN, STUART LITTLE, JACKIE CHAN ADVENTURES, HAROLD AND THE PURPLE CRAYON and MAX STEEL. Warner Bros. Showcases Scooby, Superheroes, Wabbits And Wizards

LOONEY TUNES, HARRY POTTER, SCOOBY-DOO and THE POWERPUFF GIRLS head the line-up from Warner Bros. Consumer Products at Licensing 2002 International. The LOONEY TUNES brand will be boosted by the recent announcements of a feature film in production featuring the classic characters, as well as the new Cartoon Network series BABY LOONEY TUNES, which debuts later this year. The global merchandising program for HARRY POTTER includes a range of products based on the books and films. On June 14, 2002 the live-action/CGI film SCOOBY-DOO debuts, and Warner Bros. Consumer Products has created a licensing and merchandising program that will extend through fall and encompass the new TV series WHAT'S NEW SCOOBY-DOO? debuting on Kids' WB! in fall 2002. THE POWERPUFF GIRLS, the winner of last year's International Licensing Industry Merchandisers' Association (LIMA) License of the Year, will fly onto the big screen on July 3, 2002 in an animated feature film produced by Cartoon Network Studios and distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures. A comprehensive licensing campaign, including prime product placements and extensive retail promotions will support the film's release. Booths #3019 and #3219.

Gullane's Got Yoko And Dinos

Gullane Entertainment is launching licensing and merchandising efforts for two new animated properties at Licensing 2002 International. YOKO! JAKAMOKO! TOTO!, which just won the award Best Pilot Series or TV Special at Annecy 2002, is an ITV commissioned co-production with Collingwood O'Hare and shows the friendship between Yoko (a bird), Jakamoko (an armadillo) and Toto (a monkey) using only visuals and music. HARRY AND HIS BUCKETFUL OF DINOSAURS is an animated television series currently in development with Cartoon Pizza, based on the children's book of the same name. Gullane is developing a complete licensing program for both the book and the television series. Booth #3905.

TokyoPop Debuts Two New Japanese Properties

TokyoPop will introduce anime properties INITIAL D and STRAY SHEEP at Licensing 2002 International. An unassuming tofu delivery boy becomes addicted to street racing in INITIAL D, which has already spawned a theatrical animated film and ranks among the highest-rated animated series and best-selling manga lines in Japan. Created by commercial and film director Tatsutoshi Nomura, STRAY SHEEP is a children's series featuring Poe, a naïve, independent and curious ram who finds himself sleepwalking into the most unpredictable situations.
