Laundry Teams with FXX to Celebrate 'The Simpsons’

Design/animation studio Laundry! teams up with FXX to celebrate 'The Simpsons' with all new ID animations for the network's 522-episode marathon of the show.

Design/animation studio Laundry! has teamed up with FXX to celebrate the The Simpsons with all new ID animations for the network's 522-episode marathon of the show. From August 21st to September 1st, FXX will be airing all 25 seasons of The Simpsons and The Simpsons Movie resulting in 12 days of 24/7 Simpsons broadcasting, possibly the longest marathon in television history.

Laundry! Creative Directors PJ Richardson and Anthony Liu joined forces for the project, giving a fresh look to the classic Simpsons characters. Pulling from print work over the span of all 25 seasons, the duo reimagined the famous yellow cartoon stars to create wholly original animated sequences. From a mechanical sea of pink donuts for Homer, to a Picasso-style mashup of the whole Simpsons family, each cleverly animated segment offers recognizable callbacks as tribute to the show’s most universally loved plotlines, images, and characters.

Laundry!’s Simpson’s IDs launch on the tail-end of an award-winning summer. Their music video for Eminem’s “Rap God” received three MTV VMA nominations including “Best Visual Effects,” and they recently took home multiple Cannes Lions for their work on Intel + Toshiba’s groundbreaking interactive experience, “The Power Inside.”
