The latest CARS TOONS short, directed by John Lasseter, will premiere on the Disney Channel this Friday, October 8, 2010. Co-directed by Rob Gibbs, "Heavy Metal Mater" casts Mater as a garage band rocker who rises to heavy metal stardom with the hit song "Dad Gum." Mark Mothersbaugh scored the episode, which airs at 9:30pm ET/PT. The seventh CARS TOONS will be part of a collection set to hit DVD and Blu-ray on Nov. 2.
