Larry Birstock Rejoins Post Logic as CEO

Larry Birstock returns to Hollywood-based Post Logic Studios as ceo. He replaces Steve Hendricks, who served as ceo from 2005 to the present, revitalizing Post Logic as an independent post-production and digital intermediate facility. Birstock previously served as evp from 2000 to 2005.

"We were beneficiaries of Larry's technical vision when we chose to go in the direction of digital intermediate in 2003 and we, along with the entire Post Logic family, are looking forward to the ride into the digital cinema future under Larry's solid leadership," commented Harvey Gettleson, coo of parent company Lexington Ent. Group.

In 2005, Birstock left to join Technicolor as vp/gm of Technicolor Creative Services and direct the build-out of the new Technicolor facility on the Sony Pictures lot in Culver City, set to open this summer. "I gained tremendous insights during my experience with Technicolor Creative Services and feel confident that they have everything in place for a very successful launch of their Culver City facility," added Birstock.

In his previous tenure at Post Logic, Birstock oversaw a significant capital investment in the launch of end-to-end DI services. In rejoining Post Logic, Birstock aims to leverage the site's future-forward technology infrastructure and add a slate of new services, building on DI and translating the facility's deep-seated understanding of color science into the demands of the new digital workflow for film.

"This is an exciting homecoming for me. Post Logic Studios represents the very best the industry has to offer in terms of talent and technology," said Birstock. "With new digital pipelines from acquisition to distribution transforming the way movies are made, Post Logic Studios is well positioned to build on its current success and become a model for the digital services company of tomorrow."

Prior to his positions with Post Logic and Technicolor Creative Services, Birstock was vp at Anderson Video/4MCand, before that, Sunset Post. His management responsibilities at each of these facilities crossed over into the areas of sales and operations. Larry has supervised the DI FOR MONSTER HOUSE, EXORCISM OF EMILY ROSE, MEMOIRS OF A GEISHA, NORTH COUNTRY and many others.

With technologically advanced facilities in Los Angeles and New York, Post Logic Studios (www.postlogic.com) has distinguished itself as a leader in digital intermediate and feature film restoration, and continues to expand into new and emerging arenas within the post-production realm.
