LAAF Coming December 7-8

The Los Angeles Animation Festival, which includes 10 hours of shorts competition, runs this Saturday and Sunday at the Mayflower Club in North Hollywood; this year's honoree is noted historian Jerry Beck.

The Los Angeles Animation Festival is coming up Saturday and Sunday, Dec 7 & 8, at The Mayflower Club, 11110 Victory Blvd, in North Hollywood. Events include 10 hours of shorts in competition plus panels featuring festival honoree historian Jerry Beck, animation producer extraordinaire Fred Seibert (Adventure Time), the creators of the latest Looney Tunes short Curse of the Monkey Bird and a host of others from the teams that brought you everything from The Boss Baby to Star Wars Rebels.  A day pass for either day is only $10. 

Evening events (separate admission) include a Saturday night party with presentations, interviews, surprises and the live music of long-time Conan O’Brien keyboardist Scott Healy. The Looney Tunes Curse of the Monkey Bird screening and panel is part of the Saturday night festivities and includes Peter Browngardt, creator of Uncle Grandpa, Alex Kirwan whose credits include Wander over Yonder, Ducktales and many others, and composer Joshua Mosier, known for his work on FX's Baskets, IFC's Documentary Now! and the Looney Tunes series.
