The Kushner-Locke Co. has announced that they have entered an agreementwith Toei Animation to license Toei's animated product. Toei has one ofthe largest animation libraries in the world. K-L plans to use the newlyacquired product to launch its own Spanish language animation channel inLatin America. The deal gives K-L 1400 half-hour episodes, in the firstthree years, of Toei animated product including the popular seriesSAILOR MOON and DRAGON BALL Z. Toei is one of the leading animationcompanies in Japan and has enjoyed success in Latin America since 1994with its popular children's animated product. The deal furthersolidifies K-L's presence and expansion in Latin America, which beganover 3 years ago with its distribution activities through its subsidiaryPhoenix World Investments (PWI). During the past three years K-L,through PWI, has distributed theatrical, television and video product inLatin America, including Toei's successful feature length film DRAGONBALL Z.
