Konami Abandons Controversial Iraq War Game

Various game sites are reporting via Japanese newspaper Asahi that Konami has decided not to publish Atomic Games' controversial Iraq War game SIX DAYS IN FALLUJAH. Public pressure from the U.S. moved the Japanese to abandon the title. The third person shooter would have released in 2010 on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC.

The concept for the game was based on the Second Battle of Fallujah in late 2004. Atomic's intention was to show realistic battle conditions to help players see what soldiers experienced on the battlefield. After initial criticism, Atomic brought in ex-Marines to help consult.
