Kids WB Announces 2001-02 Schedule

A new POKEMON incarnation, THE MUMMY and SHERLOCK HOLMES are all set to hit the Kids WB! for the 2001-02 season in the U.S. The Kids WB! weekday afternoon line-up has been completely renewed. POKEMON: THE JOHTO JOURNEYS, which is the network's #1 rated kids' series for the season, along with CARDCAPTORS, POKEMON and JACKIE CHAN ADVENTURES will all be returning. Weekday mornings will gain new episodes RESCUE HEROES: GLOBAL RESPONSE TEAM and SHERLOCK HOLMES IN THE 22ND CENTURY. BATMAN BEYOND will also return in the Monday-Thursday 7-8 am line-up. The WB will air two-episodes of RESCUE HEROES back to back on Fridays. RESCUE HEROES is produced by Nelvana and aired on CBS last year. The animated show follows the adventures of an extreme emergency team around the world. SHERLOCK HOLMES is co-produced by DIC Entertainment and Scottish TV and aired on Fox in 1999. The series pits a 25-year-old Holmes against an unprecedented crime wave in the 22nd Century. Continuing its exploitation of the POKEMON franchise, the WB has acquired 52-episodes of POKEMON: JOHTO LEAGUE CHAMPIONS. This new series will air on Saturday mornings at 8:30 and 10 am. In addition to JOHTO LEAGUE CHAMPIONS, THE MUMMY and CUBIX will be added to the WB Saturday morning line-up. THE MUMMY is based on the Universal live-action adventure film and will be produced by Universal Television. The show follows 11-year-old Alex O'Connell and his parents, Rick and Evy, as they travel the globe uncovering ancient ruins. CUBIX follows the adventures of 13-year-old Andy, a robot whiz, who brings to life a robot named Cubix that has been discarded as useless. The 3D CGI series was acquired from Japan by 4Kids Productions. Returning to the Saturday line-up will be STATIC SHOCK (Warner Bros.), JACKIE CHAN ADVENTURES (Sony) and X-MEN: EVOLUTION (Film Roman).
