The ‘Lovecraft’ darling has joined the cast of the third ‘Ant-Man’ franchise pic, rumored as the villainous Kang the Conqueror, a previously Fox-exclusive character.
The MCU just got a little bigger, and definitely cooler. Exciting up-and-comer Jonathan Majors (Lovecraft Country, Da 5 Bloods) has officially joined the Ant-Man 3 family, most likely as Kang the Conqueror. Kang, a time traveling super-villain, has traversed multiple timelines, and would make a great complement to Scott Lang’s Quantum Realm traveling. If rumors are true, Majors’ casting would represent one of the first previously Fox-exclusive Marvel characters utilized since the Disney/Fox merger, and could be an indicator of how new characters will be chosen to fill MCU storytelling gaps left over from the events of Avengers: Endgame.
The last few years have been good to Majors, who recently told Variety, “It’s been like a 1-2 punch. As soon as I got off the roller coaster that was Da 5 Bloods, Lovecraft started creeping up.” Talent recognizes talent, and we’re all for it.
Peyton Reed is set to return as director, with Paul Rudd and Evangeline Lily reprising their roles as Ant Man and The Wasp, respectively.
