Jack-Jack in the Spotlight in First Teaser for Pixar’s ‘Incredibles 2’

Disney unveils the first teaser trailer and poster for the follow-up to director Brad Bird’s Oscar-winning 2004 animated feature.

Seven months ahead of its release, Disney has unveiled the first teaser trailer and poster for Pixar’s Incredibles 2, the long-awaited sequel to director Brad Bird’s Academy Award-winning animated feature.

Everyone’s favorite family of superheroes is back in Incredibles 2 -- but this time Helen (voice of Holly Hunter) is in the spotlight, leaving Bob (Craig T. Nelson) at home with Violet (Sarah Vowell) and Dash (Huck Milner) to navigate the day-to-day heroics of “normal” life. It’s a tough transition for everyone, made tougher by the fact that the family is still unaware of baby Jack-Jack’s emerging superpowers. When a new villain hatches a brilliant and dangerous plot, the family and Frozone (Samuel L. Jackson) must find a way to work together again -- which is easier said than done, even when they’re all Incredible.

The new trailer features Bob at home with Jack-Jack as he begins to explore some of his newly-discovered superpowers:

Released in 2004, The Incredibles grossed more than $633 million worldwide. Earning more than $70 million opening weekend, The Incredibles posted the second-largest opening at the time for an animated feature.

Director Brad Bird also helmed Pixar Animation Studios’ 2007 Oscar-winning film Ratatouille, as well as 2015’s live-action feature Tomorrowland and the 1999 BAFTA-winning animated film The Iron Giant.

Produced by John Walker (The Incredibles) and Nicole Grindle (Sanjay’s Super Team short, Toy Story 3 associate producer), Incredibles 2 busts into theaters on June 15, 2018.
