ITFS 2021 Announces Trickstar Awards

The awards honor the best in German animation and screenplay, animated games, and innovation in business; awardees included ‘Butterfly Tale’ by Heidi Foss and Lienne Sawatsky,Endzone – A World Apart’ developed by Gentlymad Studios, and Mitmalfilm UG with Uli Seis.

28th Stuttgart International Festival of Animated Film (ITFS 2021) announced its winners of the German Animation Screenplay Award, the Animated Games Award Germany, and the Trickstar Business Award were announced.

The German Animation Screenplay Award:

Honoring the best animated feature film, the winner receives prize money of 2,500 €, sponsored by Animation Media Cluster Region Stuttgart (AMCRS) –

The winner is:

  • Butterfly Tale by Heidi Foss and Lienne Sawatsky (Production Germany: Ulysses Filmproduktion GmbH).

Special mention goes to:

  • The Girl in the Flying Washing Machine by Danielle Bouteille (aka Daniel Reittinger, Austria).

Animated Games Award Germany:

Honoring a German computer game which stands with special visual design and aesthetics, the winner comes with prize money of 5,000 €, sponsored by MFG Medien- und Filmgesellschaft Baden-Württemberg.

The winner is:

  • Endzone – A World Apart -Developer: Gentlymad Studios, CEO/ Founder Stephan Wirth; Publisher: Assemble Entertainment, CEO/ Founder Stefan Marcinek.

Special mention goes to:

  • Lost Ember - Developer: Mooneye, Producer: Sinikka Compart; Publisher: Mooneye.

The Trickstar Business Award:

The first animation prize with focus on business, awards companies, and projects featuring innovative and groundbreaking approach to business. The prize is sponsored by Verband Region Stuttgart and endowed with 7,500 € prize money.

The winner is:

  • Mitmalfilm UG with Uli Seis - Producer, Filmmaker.
