Imagina Winner Snags Animex Student Animation Awards

The winners and runners up for the Animex Student Animation Awards were announced at Animex Talk! on Friday, Feb. 10, 2006, by Shelley Page, European representative for Feature Animation DreamWorks, David Sproxton and Philip Hunt.

Coming off its grand prize win at Imagina, CLIK CLAK by Supinfocom Arles students Aurélie Fréchinos, Victor-Emmanuel Moulin and Thomas Wagner won in the 3D Computer Animation Category.

Supinfocom Valenciennes took home two awards. 90 DEGREES by Jules Janaud, Raphael Martinez-Bachel and Francois Roisin won for Experimental Animation and BEETLEBALL by Lionel Cregut, Lise Vautrin and Edouard Cellura took home the prize for Games Design and Animation.

KAMIYAS CORRESPONDENCE by Royal College of Art student Sumito Sakakibara captured the prize for 2D Computer Animation.

In the Visual Effects category, FABEL by Filmakademie Baden-Wuerttemberg students Max Stolzenberg and Anja Perl garnered the top award.

THE BAROMETZ by Vancouver Film School student Chung-Hao (Samuel) Tung won in the Visualization category while ALL STAR VITAMINS by Staffordshire University student Tom Elgin nabbed the Motion Graphics category.
