Chris Pratt, Anya Taylor-Joy, Charlie Day, Jack Black, Keegan-Michael Key, and Seth Rogen lead an all-star cast on the long-awaited animated feature, based on the hit video game, set to hit theaters holiday season 2022.
It’s been a long time coming, but now it’s official: Illumination and Nintendo’s new Super Mario Bros. animated feature film is coming! AWN first reported in November 2018, that Illumination Entertainment would be teaming up with Nintendo of America to produce a film based on the hit game, Super Mario Bros. But alas, the news has been scant until today!
In the first major reveal, the film’s all-star cast includes Chris Pratt as Mario; Anya Taylor-Joy as Princess Peach; Charlie Day as Luigi; Jack Black as Bowser; Keegan-Michael Key as Toad; Seth Rogen as Donkey Kong; Fred Armisen as Cranky Kong; Kevin Michael Richardson as Kamek; Sebastian Maniscalco as Spike; and surprise cameos from Charles Martinet.
Aaron Horvath and Michael Jelenic are directing from a screenplay by Matthew Fogel. Chris Meledandri and Shigeru Miyamoto are producing.
And, it’s hitting theaters holiday 2022.
