Marvel TV Studios’ animated series ‘Howard the Duck’ and ‘Tigra & Dazzler’ get the axe from Kevin Feige.
Marvel honcho Kevin Feige (Black Panther, Avengers: Endgame) is making moves! After he took over Marvel TV and rebranding it as Marvel TV Studios, any traces of Jeph Loeb (Agents of S.H.E.I.L.D., Jessica Jones, Lost) have quickly disappeared. Feige, the new Marvel Chief Creative Officer, now has his mitts in all movies, TV, and comic publishing divisions pertaining to Marvel. One of his biggest and latest moves is the cancellation of both Howard the Duck and Tigra & Dazzler, two animated series slated to premier on HULU. This spells the end of The Offenders, a planned crossover animated event merging the now dead shows with MODOK and Hit-Monkey, which are still alive (for now).
Feige also made short work of the Ghost Rider series, Runaways, Cloak and Dagger, Legion, and The Gifted, and was possibly involved in the decisions to cancel the Marvel/Netflix shows Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Daredevil, Iron Fist, and Defenders. Perhaps this is all a big push to wrangle control of Marvel IPs exclusively for Disney+, or maybe Feige really, really doesn’t like Loeb.
