Homer Simpson Driver's License Presented During UK Traffic Stop

Yes, thankfully, there’s something besides a new cat video to get us giggling.

Thanks to the folks at Cinemablend for shining a spotlight on the fine work of one of the UK’s hard-working police officers. Last week, a Thames Valley police offer, PC Phillips, pulled over a driver in Milton Keynes, who presented the license pictured above:

According to the police department Twitter feed, the unidentified driver’s car was seized, and he was reported for driving with no insurance and without a proper license.

And yes, the department’s tweet concluded, as you would imagine…and hope.

That someone would actually attempt this at a traffic stop proves that, at least in the UK, there is at least one person left with a sense of humor. The irony in this attempt at getting out of a ticket through use of a fake Homer Simpson license is satisfying beyond words. I’m sure my grin will last at least until morning.
