HIT European Consumer Product Business Reorganized

HIT Ent. has reorganized the HIT European consumer product business, designed to simplify future communications with its partners and support future growth across a new category-based infrastructure.

The multiple brand group structure is now disbanded. The three new business units, according to Peter Byrne, evp HIT Int'l are:

UK Consumer Products: Focusing on the core U.K. licensing business teams aligned by category, supported by an international marketing group, managing the entire HIT portfolio of brands.

EMEA Business Development: A new division created to develop, grow and maximize new EMEA business, support agent territories, provide additional retail development, third party promotions and sponsorships in support of all category and brand initiatives.

Entertainment: Building on the core strengths of the highly successful UK Video Entertainment division, with a separate European team to grow and develop the EMEA DVD and audio business. This group will also be responsible for expanding HIT's merchandise as well as growing both live events and creating themed location based entertainment concepts.

Key appointments announced by HIT are:* Katie Rollings, promoted to vp, consumer products* Dave King: promoted to vp, entertainment* Laura Clarke: promoted to director of licensing EMEA* Katie Price: promoted to director of publishing EMEA

Specific details of the realignment will be communicated to customers in a letter later this month.

Byrne said, "HIT Ent. is a phenomenal company with some enviable brands, and has grown dramatically over the years. This restructure now firmly positions the company for the next few years of rapid growth. We will be much more nimble, much more customer and retail focused and ready to exploit all opportunities across existing and new sectors of the business both in our home base and overseas."
