HBO Max Shares ‘Fired on Mars’ Trailer and Key Art

Getting canned sucks – but getting canned in space…oy – the all-new animated adult comedy follows Jeff Cooper, who must face the precarious relationship between work and self while light years away from Earth; the show hits the streamer April 20.

HBO Max has released the official trailer and key art for the upcoming original 2D adult animated series Fired on Mars, created by Nate Sherman and Nick Vokey and starring Luke Wilson.

The show tells the story of Jeff Cooper, who finds himself adrift after taking a one-way trip to the Red Planet, only to have his bosses unceremoniously eliminate his role—the eight-episode season debuts April 20 on the streamer.

In the series, Jeff Cooper (Wilson) has it all: a fulfilling career as the graphic designer for space start-up Mars.ly, a relationship with his soon-to-be Red Planet-bound girlfriend, Hannah, and… well, maybe that’s it. But when his bosses unceremoniously eliminate his role, Jeff finds himself jobless and unable to return to Earth. Adrift in the sprawling office colony, Jeff must reinvent himself and find meaning in a dangerous, alien, yet all-too-familiar corporate landscape. An existential and irreverent animated comedy series, Fired on Mars explores the precarious relationship between work and self... light years away from Earth.

Joining Wilson in the cast is David Baker; Cory Loykasek; Stephen Root; and Cedric Yarbrough. Guest stars include Pamela Adlon; Thomas Haden Church; Tim Heidecker; Frankie Quinones; Emily Watson; and Sean Wing.

The series is created and executive produced by Sherman and Vokey, with Carson Mell (Silicon ValleyEastbound and DownTarantula”) and Brian A. Miller serving as executive producers. Wilson is co-executive producer, and Jackie Buscarino is supervising producer.
