Mindy Kaling’s ‘Scooby-Doo’ spin-off follows the origin story of the Mystery Inc. gang’s underappreciated brainy member Velma Dinkley; Glenn Howerton, Sam Richardson and Constance Wu join the cast.
HBO Max released an official teaser and cast announcement for its upcoming Scooby-Doo adult animated series spin-off, Velma. The HBO Max original series, produced by Warner Bros. Animation, stars Mindy Kaling as “Velma,” Glenn Howerton as “Fred,” Sam Richardson as Norville (“Shaggy”), and Constance Wu as “Daphne.” The 10-episode season will debut in 2023.
The series tells the origin story of Velma Dinkley, the unsung and underappreciated brains of the Scooby-Doo Mystery Inc. gang. This original and humorous spin on the iconic animated franchise unmasks the complex and colorful past of one of America’s most beloved mystery solvers.
