Harry Butt to Lead Nexus Studios’ New Motion Design Studio

The division will offer 'disruptive design-first campaigns for brands' based on typographic-led motion design, CG product films and bespoke motion brand identities.

Nexus Studio, the BAFTA, Emmy, and Cannes Grand Prix-winning global creative company, has just announced the launch of a new studio dedicated to motion design - Nexus Design Studio, naming Harry Butt as Creative Director. According to the studio, the new division will strive to produce “disruptive design-first campaigns for brands, with services including crafting typographic-led motion design, CG product films and bespoke motion brand identities.”

Nexus Design Studio will utilize directors, animators, designers, and immersive experts already working in the London, LA, and Sydney offices, plus a vast network of artistic collaborators.

Butt has an extensive multi-discipline portfolio and was described as a “Jack of all trades and master of them too” by It’s Nice That. Previous clients include Nike, Boiler Room, Sony Music, Instagram and Chloé.

Chris O’Reilly, Co-Founder and Chief Creative Officer, Nexus Studios, stated, “Nexus Design Studio is an exciting creative offering that offers a new way for us to work with our clients, in parallel to our world-class roster of directors. Increasingly we've seen demand from our clients to work with us in a creative director-led way and with design as the solution. Many of our clients seek greater long-term partnerships and a deeper understanding of their unique day-to-day needs. Nexus Design Studio now formalizes that process. Harry brings his unique vision and leadership to this new team and an ability to collaborate with the incredible talent at Nexus. We think this is an apt and timely addition to how we can work with our clients.”

“After running my own small animation studio and having the time to experiment over the years, I’m excited to use the well-oiled machine of Nexus Studios to facilitate the weird ideas, the sleek slick motion design, the off-kilter 3D spots - in a quick, agile, responsive manner,” said Butt. “Placed here with the raw talent of the studio at our fingertips it all feels a bit like cheating.”
